15 Rules of Good Manners and Respect to Keep in Mind
  1. Never shake hands while sitting – Standing up when greeting someone is a sign of respect.
  2. Never speak badly about the food when you’re a guest – Even if you don’t like it, appreciate the hospitality.
  3. Don’t eat the last piece of something if you didn’t buy it – A small gesture of consideration for others.
  4. Protect those behind you and respect those beside you – Loyalty and respect define your character.
  5. Never make the first offer in a negotiation – Waiting can give you a strategic advantage.
  6. Never take credit for work you didn’t do – Recognition belongs to those who contributed.
  7. Dress well, no matter the occasion – The way you present yourself speaks volumes about you.
  8. Speak honestly: say what you mean and mean what you say – Transparency builds trust and respect.
  9. Ask more questions than you give answers – Learning to listen is one of the greatest skills.
  10. Leave vulgar language to the less educated – Elegant words are more powerful than profanity.
  11. Avoid placing your phone on the table when dining with someone – Giving your full attention is a form of respect.
  12. Listen, smile, and most importantly, make eye contact – Communication is not just verbal.
  13. If you’re not invited, don’t ask to go – Invitations should come naturally.
  14. Never be ashamed of your origins – Where you come from is part of your value.
  15. Never beg for a relationship – Love and respect are built, not begged for.

Small things make a big difference in how we are perceived and the respect we receive from others.
